2016- 2017


Homeroom / Grade Reps

1-3 persons needed per classroom/grade to: communicate upcoming events and other important information going on in the classroom/school to parents; recruit volunteers to help teacher in classroom, field trips, etc.; coordinate projects as requested by the teacher/school..

School Directory:

Two people to develop, verify all content and print the school directory. This committee starts at the end of August and wraps up by End of Sept/Early October.  Editing and data entry work can be done from home.


Volunteer Coordinator:

One person needed to identify/manage/distribute a list of interested volunteers as identified from the Volunteer Opportunities forms returned on Back to School Night in August.


VolunteerSpot Coordinator:

One person to facilitate and manage the VolunteerSpot website to schedule parent volunteers as needed for school/event volunteer needs.


Teacher Appreciation

One to two persons needed per campus to recognize staff in small ways (i.e. drinks, treats, cards, bagels coffee, etc.) on these national days of recognition – National Teacher Appreciation Day and Administrative Professionals’ Day


Staff Hospitality

One to two persons needed per campus to arrange for dinner/refreshments for staff on these nights where they are required to stay at school into the evening – Parent Information Nights at UC and LC. Possibly Christmas Program evening.


School Supplies

Two persons needed to coordinate and implement ordering of school supplies for parents (optional convenience for parents) prior to school start, inclusive of vendor selection, identification of supplies needed by each grade level, communications, ordering, and distribution.



Parent Information Night  
One to two persons for each campus.  Order and coordinate hospitality (cookies and coffee/water) at each campus. Usually a Tuesday and Thursday evening in September.


Christmas Program Refreshments 

Order refreshments/snacks for kids to have during Christmas Program, and organize by classroom.  Work with 7th and 8th graders to distribute to classrooms on the day of the Program.


Admissions Open House

Organize hospitality for this November evening event for prospective parents who are interested in Carondelet Catholic School, and help Admissions Coordinator, as needed.


Catholic Schools Week  

One chair and 4 members start right after Christmas break to coordinate with Student Council and organize events related to Catholic Schools Week, which is usually the end of January.  Events usually include school and church staff appreciation meals and activities.


8th Grade History Fair

Work with the faculty member in charge of the 8th Grade History Fair to coordinate refreshments for the judges.  This event is usually in February.  Note: Upper Campus familiarity is preferred as it helps logistically. 


Kinder “Garden” Party

A meet and greet for incoming Kindergarten parents, while their kids enjoy a few hours in Kindergarten classrooms.  Organize refreshments and assist Admissions Coordinator, Megan Hower, as needed. Takes place in April/May at lower campus.


Kindergarten Celebration Reception

Work with Kindergarten teachers to host a reception for the families of "graduating" Kindergarteners, following their program and prayer service on the last day of school.  Note: teachers prefer volunteers not be Kindergarten parents.  


8th Grade Graduation Reception

Host a breakfast for the families of graduating 8th graders the morning of their graduation.  This event takes place in the CTK Social Hall.  Arrange for continental breakfast, set up and clean up. 




Pops and Lollies

Plan and facilitate an event for fathers and daughters. 2+ Co-Chair(s) with committee of 6-10 members.


Mom Son Fun & Yum

Plan and facilitate an event for mothers and sons. 2+ Co-Chair(s) with committee of 6-10 members.


Muffins with Mom / Donuts with Dad

Plan and promote the Muffins with Mom event 2x/yr. and Donuts with Dad event 2x/yr.  Team needed to coordinate location, refreshments, muffins/donuts, scheduling/promotion, set up and clean up. 



Family Bingo Nights

Organize family bingo nights, held 2+ times throughout school year.  Team of volunteers needed to promote, set up, clean up, snacks, drinks, run bingo game, prizes, etc. STA has Bingo set. 





Plan, organize and facilitate monthly H&S meetings, and volunteer involvement in H&S events and committees. Point contact for school and parish contacts as necessary, as well as with Room Reps.  1 year commitment as Chair, followed by 1 year commitment as co-chair. Time commitment varies 1-3 hrs/week per person (chair/co-chair). Current Chair will serve the following year as co-chair, and then roll off the leadership team. Present or prior H&S experience recommended.



Work jointly with H&S chair on meetings, agendas, communications and events/committees.  One year commitment. One year commitment. Time commitment varies 1-3 hrs./week per person (chair/co-chair). Present or prior H&S experience recommended.



Manage H&S finances, budgeting and reporting. Prepare monthly financial reports and present at monthly meetings.

Manage, maintain and communicate all H&S administrative areas, including agendas, meeting minutes, member lists, committee descriptions/lists, Carondelet Home & School Gmail account, Carondelet Home & School mailchimp account, electronic files, committee reports, etc.
